 The change starts at the top after defending state 6A champions No. 1 Lone Peak lost to No. 6 Timpview 31-10. 

The Thunderbirds' first win over the loan since 2014 against his peak was aided by Micah his Bexted running his back, 

Who rushed for 223 yards and his two touchdowns.  T-Birds D picked up his 6 bags.

The win will also help his Timpview in the national rankings. The Thunderbirds started the season  in 283rd place in the preseason rankings.

 Lonpeak was ranked 84th in the HSFA 300 preseason rankings. In another top 10 head-to-head, No. 8 Orem beat No. 9 East 22-21. 

The Tigers entered and won the game with 2:21 he successfully converted a  two-point conversion attempt. Lance Reynolds' 5-yard TD pass to Cole Johnson pulled Orem  within a point.

Quarterback Isaac Wilson,  brother of New York Jets QB Zach Wilson, made his debut at No. 2 Corner Canyon with six touchdown passes.

The Chargers had his 45-7 win over Herriman behind the junior QB.  Defending 5A champion Lehi ranked his No. 4 in the state and shut out Davis with his 48-0 record to open 2022. 

Lehigh QB Jackson Brusey completed 21 of 23 passes for 343 yards and his three touchdowns. He also ran for the score.  No. 5 American Fork shuts out Roy 48-0. 

 No. 7 Bingham defeated Weber by his 42-14. Havea Fotu and Carson Sudbury each had his three touchdowns.
